Well, we got through the gig! And it was fantastic to see so many of you there!
We are humbled, grateful, and hope you had as much fun as we did.
Special thanks to The Recher for hosting us, and for Bob the Paper Guy from WTMD 89.7 for introducing us.
But the REALLY BIG THANKS go to Nick Bertling for stepping up and helping us out.
For those that aren't aware, Andy woke up the morning of the show with a 102 degree fever and a gravely voice. He was a trooper for fighting through it. Max jumped in to sing a few songs, but Nick, who was there as tech support for Tom and Max grabbed the mic and brought the goods! Thank you Nick.
For years we have heard the same questions. 'Why aren't your songs getting airplay?' 'When is Love Nut gonna get back together?' and 'Where's that money you owe me?'
Truth is, many of our current friends, coworkers, or parole officers, have never seen this band play live. Sure, they've heard the stories about the band. The raw power of the live shows. The perfect mix of energy and melody that makes power pop.
So, this will be the chance to finally see what this band was all about. Well, that, and we are getting old and figured we should do this while we still can. And we are really looking forward to it.
One from a series of promo shots taken before Baltimucho was recorded.
Andy Bopp tracking guitars during Bastards of Melody sessions in Drew's basement.
Ed Stasium engineering and producing on a Neve console at Triclops Studio, Atlanta.
Before we were Love Nut, we were Andy Bopp and The New Alliance and went through a few line up changes.
This version had Jim Campbell on drums while Tom Sabia took a break. I think he went swimming with dolphins or something...
"Tears Will Fall". Shot on 16mm film, in guerrilla style in Baltimore's Penn Station, Hamden, and Fells Point.
Excessive china cymbals, a space-saver bass, and a smashed guitar. What more do you want from an early 90's music video?
Enjoy this nugget - "Dave Song". The second video Jim did with us. And no, the title has nothing to do with the song.
Before the song had a name, Andy would say, "Dave, play the song" which ended up on stage as "Dave, song..."
